How It Works
-
The first few sessions are all about getting to know each other. We will talk about what brought you in, what has been going on, and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. There is no pressure to have it all figured out or to dive into the deep end right away. By the end of those first few sessions we will have a clearer picture of what we are working on and how we want to approach it together.
-
Some people come in with a specific goal and feel ready to wrap up after a few months. Others find that therapy becomes a longer term space for growth and self-exploration. There is no one size fits all answer and there is no pressure to be on any particular timeline. We check in regularly about how things are feeling and you always have a say in how long we work together. The goal is progress that feels real, not sessions that go on longer than they need to.

Then you are in good company. A lot of the people I work with are coming to therapy for the very first time. It is completely normal to feel nervous, unsure of what to say, or even a little skeptical about whether it will actually help. You do not need to prepare anything or show up with the right words. All you have to do is show up. We will figure out the rest together and I will walk you through everything along the way.

This is such a good question and one that does not always have an obvious answer. Progress in therapy does not always look like feeling better after every session. Sometimes it looks like understanding yourself more clearly, reacting differently to something that used to send you spiraling, or finally being able to name something you could never quite put into words before. We check in regularly about how things feel and adjust as we go. If something is not working I want to know, because good therapy should always be moving you somewhere.

Warm, real, and collaborative. I am in it with you, curious about your story and genuinely invested in how things go. Most people tell me they felt comfortable way faster than they thought they would, which means a lot to me. We will laugh sometimes, we will get into the hard stuff sometimes, and we will always be moving toward something. The goal is for sessions to feel like time well spent, a space that is fully yours.
